Reconfiguration
Ich sitze hier im Garten unseres Hostels in Auckland und rechne mir als geschulter Camper aus, wie der Sonnenverlauf ist und wann ich im Schatten sitzen werde. Irgendwann sitze ich tatsächlich im Schatten … nur wird der Schatten nicht von dem Baum rechts von mir geworfen sondern von dem Haus links von mir… irgendetwas stimmt hier nicht. Was stimmt hier nicht?? Genau, die Sonne ist nicht wie gewohnt im Bogen nach rechts gewandert! Sie hat sich nach links geschlagen. Ja, ja, ich weiss was der ein oder andere einwerfen mag: „Mensch Andreas, Du bist jetzt auf der Südhalbkugel, was bist Du also irritiert!“ Aber
a) muss einem der bekannte Zusammenhang erst einmal wieder einfallen, und
b) merkt man gerade in solchen Augenblicken, wie diese Naturerscheinungen im Unterbewusstsein verankert sind.
Das Gleiche gilt hier auch für die das Einbrechen der Nacht. Bei unseren bisherigen Aufenthaltsorten in der Nähe des Äquators konnte man die Uhr danach stellen, dass es 18 bzw. 19 Uhr (je nach Zeitzone) ist, wenn die Sonne untergeht. Das bestimmmte den Tagesrhyhtmus genauso wie die Hähne, die uns kurz nach Sonnenaufgang als natürlicher Wecker aus dem Schlaf rissen. Auch wenn die innere Uhr aufgrund der 5 Stunden Zeitunterschied zu Malaysia ein wenig aus der Balance gebracht ist, ist man doch sehr irritiert, dass es schon 21.00 Uhr ist, wo es doch immer noch hell ist.
Da man sich auf diese Dinge immer wieder neu einstellt zeigt ja, wie grossartig sich das menschliche Hirn umprogrammieren lässt. Ich werde diesen Artikel über Langzeitastronauten nie vergessen. Dort wurde beschrieben, dass Astronauten in der Schwerelosigkeit unter Übelkeit leiden, da der Gleichgewichtssinn verrückt spielt. Nach längerem Aufenthalt im All erklärt das Hirn diese Information für irrelevant und rekonfiguriert sich so, dass der Gleichgewichtssinn einfach nicht mehr relevant ist und die Orientierung nur noch über die visuell wahrgenommen Horizontallinien erfolgt. Es wurde weiter das Experiment beschrieben, einen Astronauten auf der Erde in ein Zimmer zu stellen und dann das Licht auszumachen: Klong!
Vielleicht sollte ich mit Chris, die unter der Reisekrankheit (besser im Englischen: motion sickness) leidet, mal zwei Tage ohne Unterbrechung Achterbahn fahren 
.
Was jetzt noch aussteht ist der Mond. So lange konnte ich gestern nicht mehr ausharren. Der Flug war recht schlaflos . Aber gleich werde ich ins Bad aufbrechen, das Waschbecken vollaufen lassen und endlich selber einmal ausprobieren, was ich einmal bei „Sendung mit der Maus“ gesehen habe: wie läuft das Wasser auf der Südhalbkugel ab, links oder rechtsrum?
